Compound is for oxidation that a wash and wax cannot fix. You can check your own boat with a bright, direct light.
Shine the light into the gelcoat and look at the reflection:
- No reflection: the boat needs sanding.
- A little reflection and a chalky feel: it needs a 2-step heavy cut and polish.
- A dull reflection with a smooth feel: it needs a polish.
A wash and wax is not for dull or faded boats. Those need correction first.
Most companies offer an estimate. During ours we will tell you what your boat needs and match it to the goals you have.
